The skilled, innovative, creative managing force behind Studio Tenn, Todd Morgan joined the company as its new Managing Director in September of 2017. Originally hailing from Pinehurst, North Carolina, Morgan comes to Studio Tenn with a plethora of experience and expertise. After earning his B.S. in musical theatre at Lees-McRae College, Morgan founded the North Carolina Stage Ensemble where he oversaw the production of seventeen classic musicals for various theatrical venues. Such productions include LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, SMOKEY JOES CAFE, FOREVER PLAID and THE WILL ROGERS FOLLIES. Morgan went on to produce all park entertainment at Tweetsie Railroad while serving as the director of entertainment. He later earned his M.F.A. in performing arts management from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts which included an internship at the prestigious Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, D.C. Morgan would go on to serve as the theater programming coordinator for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, where his passion for new works led him to projects with notable industry professionals including Jason Loewith, Bill Russell, Edgar Dobie and Michael Kaiser. Additionally, he worked on several Broadway bound Kennedy Center productions including LITTLE DANCER, starring Tyler Peck and Boyd Gaines, as well as the new production of SIDE SHOW, starring Emily Padgett and Erin Davie, which transferred to Broadway in the fall of 2014. Morgan also had the pleasure to facilitate cabaret performances featuring artists such as Mandy Patinkin, Patti LuPone, Judy Kuhn, Tommy Tune, Megan Hilty, Brian D’Arcy James and Barbara Cook. Later, Morgan became the management associate for the Tony Award-winning Signature theatre in Arlington, VA., Signature is a prominent home for the development and production of new and innovative works of musical theatre. Todd is accompanied by his wife Donna and their daughters, Molly and Allyssa.
An accomplished designer, director, illustrator and performer, Matt Logan is first and foremost a storyteller—drawing on his multi-disciplinary talents to create a comprehensive signature aesthetic that connects every aspect of a Studio Tenn production, from the set to the stitching. One of a rare few who doubles as director and designer, Logan made his professional directorial debut at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) at the age of 19. He attended Pepperdine University on a Design Scholarship where he apprenticed under theatre legend John Raitt. Upon graduating, Logan worked on Broadway in costuming for GYPSY, THE LION KING, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and OKLAHOMA. He assisted Tara Rubin Casting for THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, JERSEY BOYS, SPAMALOT and SHREK. A nationally recognized illustrator and caricature artist, Logan was named by The New York Times as an heir to the Al Hirschfeld tradition for his Broadway portraiture. His celebrity clients include Hugh Jackman, Bernadette Peters, Jude Law, Martin Short, Mike Nichols, Dolly Parton, Mary Tyler Moore, Katie Holmes, Harry Connick Jr. and Morgan Freeman.As an actor, Logan’s credits include Performance Riverside (INTO THE WOODS, SCARLET PIMPERNEL, THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD), McCoy Rigby Entertainment (THE UNSINKABLE MOLLY BROWN starring Cathy Rigby), Tennessee Repertory Theatre (1776), Rattlestick Theatre NY (MESSAGE FOR MICHAEL), the Actors Fund of NY (ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY starring Douglas Sills and Marin Mazzie), and San Francisco Opera (THE MERRY WIDOW starring Fredrica Von Stade). He also starred as Henry Higgins in Studio Tenn’s 2013 production of MY FAIR LADY. In the fall of 2009 Logan became the founding Artistic Director of Studio Tenn. He has since directed and designed seven critically acclaimed seasons with Studio Tenn.
