SEEKING:

Gomez Addams: (Male, 40s - 50s) Vocal Range: Bb2 - G4. A suave man who adores his wife and children and takes immense pride in being an Addams.

Morticia Addams: (Female, 40s - 50s) Vocal Range: G3 - Bb5. The beautiful and mysterious head of the Addams family who believes strongly in family tradition. She is a strong dancer.

Uncle Fester: (Male, 30s - 50s) Vocal Range; C3 – C5. Serving as the narrator of the show, Uncle Fester is lovable, childish, enthusiastic and highly incorrigible. Fester has great comedic timing and a large tenor voice. Ukulele skills a plus.

Grandma: (Female, 50s - 60s) Vocal Range: G4 – F5. Fun, quirky and feisty, Grandma always has a trick up her sleeve. Grandma is wise, wacky and sometimes a bit crass.

Wednesday Addams: (Female, 18-20) Vocal Range; A3 - E5. Eldest daughter Wednesday has her father’s heart and her mother’s sensibility. She falls in love with a normal boy who she brings home to meet the family. Wednesday is trying to balance her relationships with her strange family and that of her new love.

Pugsley Addams: (Male, 11-15) Vocal Range: A3 - F5. The youngest of the Addams Family, Pugsley loves to be tortured by his big sister. He is lost trying to figure out his place now that she has a new boyfriend and family dynamics are changing.

Lurch: (Male, 30 - 40s) Vocal Range: Eb2 – E4. A man of few words, Lurch is the Addams Family butler. His unmistakable commanding presence is accented by grunts, moans and deliberate movement.

Mal Beineke: (Male, 40s - 50s) Vocal Range: C3 – A4. The uptight father of Lucas, cynical Mal meets the Addams with skepticism. He finds the Addams to be too bizarre for his liking and cannot fathom being related to them.

Alice Beineke: (Female, 40s - 50s) Vocal Range: Ab3 – G#5. Lucas’ mother and Mal’s wife, Alice is strongly devoted to her family. She presents herself as reserved and collected (even when speaking in rhyme) until she learns to unleash her wild side at dinner with the Addams.

Lucas Beineke: (Male, 18 - 20) Vocal Range: C3 – C5. A true romantic and son of Alice & Mal, Lucas has fallen in love with Wednesday and intends to marry her. He is optimistic and hopeful.

The Addams Ancestors - 3 men and 3 women of various ages to make up the family ancestors. They require strong movement and comedic acting skills.

Truvy Jones: THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST. (Female, 40s) The vibrant and warm-hearted owner of the beauty salon where the entire play takes place. She is talkative, friendly, and always eager to make others feel welcome.

Annelle Dupuy-Desoto: (Female, 25-30) is Truvy’s new assistant, a quirky woman who starts off shy, nervous, and uncertain about her future.

Clairee Belcher: (Female, 50s - 60s) is the stylish and witty widow of the former mayor. She is wealthy, sophisticated, and enjoys being part of the salon’s regular social circle. Clairee is known for her dry sense of humor and playful sarcasm.

Shelby Eatenton-Latcherie: (Female, 20-25) is a spirited woman whose vibrant personality and inner strength leave a lasting impact on everyone around her. Despite living with type 1 diabetes, she is determined to live life on her own terms.

M’Lynn Eatenton:(Female, 40s) is Shelby’s mother, a sensible and deeply loving woman who works as a social worker and guidance counselor. She is practical and protective, often worrying about Shelby’s health and well-being.

Ouiser Boudreaux: (50s-60s) is the group’s resident curmudgeon. She is gruff, blunt, and delightfully eccentric. She is wealthy and independent but seems perpetually irritated with the world.

SEEKING:

Nick Bottom: (Male, 30s - 40s) A2 - G4. Nick is an aspiring playwright who is frustrated with his lack of success. He is desperate to outdo Shakespeare and create the next big thing in theater. Nick is driven by his desire to succeed, even if it means resorting to extreme measures. Ambitious, jealous, determined, but somewhat clueless.

Shakespeare: (Male, 30s) Ab2 - Ab4. The famous playwright and rival to the Bottom brothers. Shakespeare is depicted as an egotistical rock star of the Elizabethan theater scene. While he's undeniably talented, he is also self-centered and somewhat pretentious. Arrogant, charming, flashy, and full of himself with a modern, rock-star swagger.

Nigel Bottom: (Male, mid to late 20s) Eb3 - A4. Nick’s younger brother, Nigel, is a talented but more idealistic playwright who is far less concerned with fame and more interested in writing meaningful theater. He is far more innocent than Nick and has a deep love for poetry. Sweet, sincere, and naive. Nigel represents the artistic side of theater, contrasting with Nick’s more mercenary approach.

Bea: (Female, 30s) D3 - D5. Nick’s wife and “Right Hand Man.” She loves and supports him despite his questionable decision making and lack of success. Bea resorts to dressing up like a male to make ends meet for her growing family. She is a strong leader and a powerful woman who is quite persuasive when she wants to be.

Portia: (Female, 20s) G3 - F#5. A quirky Puritan girl whom Nigel meets on the street. Portia is the only daughter of Brother Jeremiah and the love interest to Nigel Bottom. They fall madly in love with each other over their mutual love for Shakespeare and poetry.

Nostradamus: (Open Gender, 40s - 50s) A2 - A4. A strange character who provides Nick with a vision of the future. Mysterious, all knowing, and slightly eccentric.

Brother Jeremiah: (Male, 40s - 50s) G3 - G4. The Puritan father of Portia. He is very strict and keeps a watchful eye on his daughter. He shows nothing but disrespect towards everyone, but especially playwrights like Nick and Nigel. A deeply repressed Puritan. He despises playwrights, poets and all things ungodly.

Minstrel: (Open Gender, 30s) C#3 - A4. An energetic character that narrates some parts of the story and serves as the "guide" for the audience.

Shylock: (Male, 50s-70s) A2 - A4. A character in Shakespeare’s play, The Merchant of Venice. He is also a part of the show’s comedic subplot, making sarcastic comments throughout the show. Witty, sharp- tongued, and involved in the financial dealings of the characters.

Ensemble: Men and women to play Shakespeare fans and other characters during the Renaissance. Strong dancers and singers.
